The entire university community was agog yesterday, March 17, 2016 following the declaration of the winner of the just concluded Vice Chancellor's election. Information reaching the INFOSCOPE team is that Prof. Francis C. Eze of Physics department, has been declared the winner and will most likely assume duties as the 7th substantive Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri on the 19th of June, 2016.

A brief profile of Prof. Francis Chukwuemeka Eze, KSJI
B.Sc(Nig), M.Sc, (Dundee) Ph.D.(Nig) FSESN, FNIP, FIIAN.

Prof F.C. Eze was a two time HOD of Physics department. He became the Dean, School of Science(SOSC) and also the Director of Nuclear Energy And Research centre prior to his appointment as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration in 2013.
Prof. F.C Eze is an alumnus of University of Nigerian, Nsukka. He worked in a bank after his first degree before traveling abroad to further his education. Upon coming back, he ventured into lecturing in FUTO. He has authored so many journals and publications. He is a Professor of Experimental solid state physics and Material science.

He is a very strict, serious but humble and passionate man. He is a Christian and a member of the Knights of St. John International.  He is married and blessed with about four kids.

Today, by dint of hard work and by Divine providence, he has been elected as the next Vice Chancellor of the prestigious Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State.

The INFOSCOPE team felicitates with Prof. F.C. Eze and prays God to give him the wisdom to govern the affairs of the university to the glory of God and the betterment of mankind.

three bike men clashed-crashed at eziobodo/bike business in FUTO

It was almost a suicidal drama this Morning at eziobodo futo road ,as three bikes involved in a crash  struggling to get passengers and flee as fast to drop them and return to pick more passengers. Dgossip was present at the scene  and this were the findings.
According to the first bike man Mr calistus.  He was the first to be called by the passenger so he drove to pick her up but suddenly the fellow bikeman who happened to be a student drove infront to pick up the passenger.  Making him to drive faster to pick the passenger since he was the one called First.  It was at this chase that another bike man rushing to drop his passengers drove with speed confused of what the other two bikes where trying to do.  Then he hit Mr calistus who now colided with the student bikeman  almost scratching the passenger they wanted to pick. For almost an hour they stood quarreling. Quoting the student bike man (name not revealed )"I saw a passenger and I came to carry her. I don't know where this man came from" further questions to the student bike man. On how he coped with school and riding bike?. He spoke after a while hesitate "in case you don't know bike is a very awsome business in FUTO.  Here weather on high purchase or biking it yourself " after which he left.

NUESA CONFERENCE MEETING FUTO CHAPTER

Nigerian Universities Engineering Student Association (NUESA) FUTO chapter held it general conference meeting.  Today being Wednesday March 16 2016 .
The meeting started with an opening prayer. Which lunched us into the NUESA Executive introduction having all excos present ranging from the president:  V.president: D.O.S: P.R.O:   treasurer:  and excos of different nuesa departments ABE, MME, CHM, EEE,MEE,PTE. PET were all present also our very own Cmr.ONOCHIE DAVID imidiaTE past president of SUG was present..

Then the welcome address by Dean of SEET PROF. NWADIKOM. after which the SUG president was allowed to address the student.  Then we proceeded to the inspiring speech by SEET I.T coordinator who urged the student to make sure the do well in lectures as what they learn may go a long way to help them in outside school life.  And also spoke on how to get I.T places.  Then the SUG president emeritus gave a talk on leadership encouraging the students with personal experience and testimony to come out and involve in leadership as it will enhance not only their education but their life and especially as the NUESA election is on it's realm that they should come out and contest.  Due to time lapse we moved to YEAR ONE INDUCTION which was done by staffs with Dean of SEET presiding.  After which they left with  standing ovation of the happy inducted year ones.  Then a speech on NEED FOR ENGINEERING SKILLS was made by Comr. Mboutidem.  Emphasizing on what engineering is all about and why students need to gain the skill  to earn aids to the society.
Then the refreshments and closing speech by NUESA president..
