INDUSTRIAL TRAINING TECHNICAL REPORT FORMAT.
Nigerian students studying Engineering courses in their 200, 300 & 400 level depending on their course of study are supposed to embark on industrial training for a period of 3 months or 6 months and this carries about 2-6 units in their second semester credit load.
After the industrial traiing (I.T) period each student is supposed to write a technical report of his or her I.T experience this bears 25% of the total siwes marks.
ALLOTMENT OF MARKS AS APPROVED BY ITF.
Log book Record/ Presentation: 25 marks
Technical Report: 25 marks
Attitudinal Observation: 10 marks
Employers Report: 25 marks
Oral interview by department (I.T defence): 15 marks.
This makes the technical report a major issue in gaining good grades from siwes.
What is a technical report?
It is a mini project that summarizes all the activities carried out during Industrial Training, experiences gathered and possible recommendation.
In writing a technical report the following format should be used:
NB: the format presented below is just the basic requirements.
COVER PAGE :
This should contain the Name of the school, students name, department, matriculation Number, period of attachment (dates should be quoted), your employers name and location.
DEDICATION PAGE
for example . I dedicate this report to the almighty God or to your parents.
ACkNOWLEDGEMENT
Here, you acknowledge the help rendered by a few individuals towards the success of your technical report. Write their names.
E.g I will like to acknowledge my parents for their immense support, my lecturers and all who have contributed to this point in the success of this technical report.

This should contain a chronological detail of what you wrote chapter by chapter.

PLEASE NOTE;
√ A technical report should not be more than Thirty(30) pages.
√ Diagrams, graphs and sketches should be used where necessary.
√ Always learn to reference the source of your information.
√ During typesetting, double-line spacing is ok for a technical report for clarity, you could do otherwise depending on the content of what you wrote.
√ Use fonts types and size that are visible. (Times new romans, size: 14) is very much OK.
√ the use of unambiguous grammatical sentences should be used.
